I BELIEVE IN SANTA
Hi everyone! I hope your hearts are filling up with joy & wonder as we’re approaching the holidays! Isn’t the Christmas season just so magical? It’s almost like God engages the world in a conspiracy of love…we’re all a little more giving, a little more kind, a little more cheery, a little more compassionate, a little more jovial, a little more joyous. I can’t even tell you how full my heart is to see the world this way.
You might think I’ve gone crazy with my declaration of believing in Santa?!? So let’s get it straight…no, I don’t believe Santa exists in the physical, I very much believe in the concept because it teaches us from a very young age that if we desire something so incredibly strongly, there’s an unexplainable way in which the universe conspires for us to receive it.
Through Santa we teach our little ones that to get what they desire most they have to have patience, hope and to believe in that which their little eyes can’t see. So when they figure out that Santa is not real in the physical, instead of letting their hearts fill up with disappointment…we have an opportunity to make the connection, to teach them that just as Santa will forever exist in their hearts because they believed for so long, so will God.
The concept of Santa teaches us to tap into a knowing inside of us that transcends our physical senses…a knowing that a loving force field exists that is so vast and goes beyond whst our human mind can comprehend. A force that’s on our side and conspires to materialize our biggest dreams & desires once we align with it.
While it’s true that it has not been proven, beyond a shadow of a doubt, such a force exists…it also hasn’t been proven that it doesn’t exist. While in my heart, I personally feel it’s right to honor the possibility, I fully respect & acknowledge that we each have a right to choose which side of that question we stand on.
When I am challenged by our children with proving that God exists, I have learned to turn it around with “Show me where God is not. How do we look at a world where nothing is left undone and think it all happens by chance?” Knowing something greater than us has our back when we hit against our human limitations brings an incredible sense of peace, love & belonging. I will close with one of my favorite passages:
“Be still and know that I am GOD”
Much love & light to you this Christmas and always.
