BACK TO SILLLY
“I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it’s the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It’s probably the most important thing in a person.”
~Audrey Hepburn
Hello beautiful souls!
As I sit here on this cool Sunday morning, sipping my pumpkin spiced coffee and reflecting on the past week, I feel my chest opening up and my face getting brighter…I feel joy! My head is flooded with memories of all the wonderful moments of laughter and silliness from this past week. So it inspired me to blog about getting back to silly.
You could say I’m one of the lucky ones. I married a man who’s definitely been blessed with the gift of humor. When God made him, he threw three extra scoops of humor in Jim, and said “my child…it is your purpose to make others feel good through laughter”. It’s incredibly natural for him to want to make us all laugh. He’s the guy at work that knows just when to inject some levity into a dyer situation. He’s the guy that people gravitate towards at parties because they know that instant high from laughter is just moments away. But what is it about laughter and being silly that makes us feel so good?
Well, I’m sure I could look up some scientific explanation but I’m not going to. I will just tell you that when I think of instant stress busters…laughter & dancing are the first two things that come to mind. And the thing is that we get so busy “doing life” that we forget to just let ourselves be in those natural states that instantly make us feel good. There are times that I find myself giggling like a young school girl, and when I’m finished a sense of lightness and freedom washes over me. Can you relate? When I feel heavy & blab, I’ve taught myself to turn to laughter & dance as they are both instant stress dissolvers.
Have you noticed how joyful little kids are when they let themselves laugh or move their little bum bums to whatever song comes on! It really is that simple. We just have to be willing & make time to get back to those natural states of giggles & wiggles.
At the risk of being judged by some I wanted to talk a tad about one topic that absolutely brings me to instant laughing tears, which is toilet humor! I used to be embarrassed to admit this because it seems I should have outgrown it decades ago, but to me there’s nothing funnier than a good fart/poo saying or joke. It turns out I’m not all that odd…Mozart himself was known for being easily amused by various versions of toilet humor including farts…so if Mozard could do it, I mean c’mon. Nothing funnier than fart rhymes that you can say to those who pass gas but don’t own it and try to blame it on others:
“-He who declared it blared it.
-He who observed it served it.
-He who detected it ejected it.
-He who rejected it respected it.
-He who said the rhyme did the crime.
-Whoever spoke last set off the blast.
-Whoever smelt it dealt it.
-Whoever denied it supplied it.
-The next person who speaks is the person who reeks.
-The smeller’s the feller.
-He who introduced it produced it.
-He who inculpated promulgated.
-Whoever’s poking fun is the smoking gun
-He who accuses blew the fuses.
-He who refuted it tooted it.
-He who pointed the finger pulled the trigger.
-He who articulated it particulated it.
-He who deduced it produced it.
-He who was a smart-ass has a fart-ass
-He who sniffed it biffed it.
-He who eulogized it aerosolized it.
-Whoever makes the joke makes the ass smoke.
-He who rapped it cracked it.
-Whoever rebuts it cuts it.
-Whoever said the rap did the crap.
-Whoever had the smirk did the work.
-Whoever spoke it broke it.
-Whoever asked it gassed it.
-Whoever started it farted it.
-Whoever explained it ordained it.
-Whoever described it supplied it.
-Whoever thunk it stunk it.
-Whoever whiffed it biffed it.
-Whoever resented it, presented it.
-Whoever accused it, effused it.
-Whoever spoke the words is baking the turds.
-He who did the verse made it worse.
-He who painted fainted.
-The one who smelled is the one who expelled.
-The smeller’s the feller that turned the propeller.
-The one who flipped is the one who ripped.
-He who circulated it perpetrated it.
-He who refuses it diffuses it.
-Whoever is squealing is concealing.
-He who enjoyed it deployed it.
-He who policed it released it.”
Are you in tears yet? ? And one more thing?!? Who doesn’t laugh at the idea of being in a Dutch Oven?!? Can you guess what a Dutch oven surprise may be?
Ok! Ok! I hope that made you laugh for a few moments! I know I’m wiping laugh tears off my face right now!?
As for dancing, I think not much needs to be said about dancing except that it always takes the stress away and it’s my favorite form of meditation! Boogie, oogie!
Hope you enjoyed the silliness today! Throw some comments my way! Share thoughts that crossed your mind as you were reading !
Have a great Sunday!
Much Love,
Silly Cowgirl Dee??
I dust the crops
Like a Boss
My cloud
IS LOUD
And I stand proud
